Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Place the flour in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let it cool completely.
  2. Beat the softened butter and cream cheese together on medium-high speed until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add both brown sugar and granulated sugar and the salt, beating for another 2 minutes until the texture is smooth and airy.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Using a spatula, gently fold in the chocolate chips by hand until evenly distributed.
