Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp honey
- 3 cloves garlic, smashed
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
Instructions:
- Place a 12-inch cast iron or stainless steel skillet over medium-high heat. Melt the butter until it begins to foam.
- Add the trimmed green beans and smashed garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 2–3 minutes, shaking the pan frequently, until the beans develop small charred blisters.
- Pour in 2 tablespoons of water (or chicken stock). Immediately cover the pan with a lid and steam for 2 minutes.
- Remove the lid and stir in the honey, salt, and pepper. Increase heat to high and stir constantly for 1–2 minutes until the liquid reduces into a thick, glossy syrup that coats the beans.
- Remove from heat immediately once the glaze has thickened to avoid burning.
