Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225g) full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 4 cups (480g) powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
Instructions:
- Place the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter in the mixing bowl. Beat on medium-high speed for 2–3 minutes until the mixture is pale, smooth, and completely devoid of lumps.
- Reduce the mixer speed to low. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt. Mix for 30 seconds until just combined.
- Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time. Start on the lowest speed to avoid a sugar cloud, then increase to medium for about 1 minute per addition. Stop mixing the moment the frosting is smooth and holds a soft peak.
