Ingredients:

  • 6 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp espresso powder
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Combine the milk, heavy cream, cocoa powder, espresso powder, and salt in the slow cooker.
  2. Whisk vigorously until the cocoa powder is mostly incorporated and no large clumps remain.
  3. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Set the slow cooker to LOW, cover with the lid, and let the mixture heat through for 2 hours.
  5. Remove the lid and stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Whisk gently until the chips have completely melted and the liquid is a uniform, glossy mahogany color.
  7. Keep on the WARM setting for serving.
